The Ballad Of William Burroughs Creek
Oh I took me a ride down to the Burroughs house
The home of a late great hero
Yes, poor Williams dead now
Across the street instead now
There lives a paranoid unfriendly fellow
My camera made less racket than a dormouse
But I got me just a few clear photos
Then this fella opened up his door
Said What the hell are you here for?
And in his voice were no friendly hellos
Well not only was he acting rude
But more than once he called me dude
I said, This here is Burroughs Creek
He looked at me like Is a geek
So I left him to his artless heartless mood
Now Ive told this here tale twice or thrice now
To my friends in the good old avant garde
They all say this guys suspicious
All his jeers and his bad wishes
Really mean he’s got a meth lab in his yard
Well not only was he acting rude
But more than once he called me dude
I said, This here is Burroughs Creek
He looked at me like I’s a geek
So I left him to his artless heartless mood
Yes I left him to his artless heartless mood
Oh I left him to his artless heartless mood
