Goff cooked this one up as an experiment soon after the open loops themselves were baked. "Insert Art Here" is a percussive improv which Goff has inserted art into once previously. Vernon Lawton is the author of the improv and also a one-time member of the early 1980's tape loop ensemble: -ING. Goff too was in -ING. Together, they are producing a new -ING CD album -- their first collaboration since 1982. This piece will likely find a spot on the disk. Credits: C. The pensive melody and simple lyrics for this lament were brought to me in a dream on my birthday almost exactly a year ago (October 17th). I thought of it as a birthday present from the Gods. Elton John was performing the song on a stage in a real fancy theater. I’ve never seen an EJ concert in real life except on TV. There was a paraplegic person sitting next to him on the piano stool. I saw Dianne Feinstein in the audience.
Anyway, considering today’s troubled times, it suddenly seemed appropriate that I cook up a recording of this song and honor its anniversary. I shook some Tapegerm spices into the recipe to make it a bit more edgy. Credits: Goff plays guitars, twiddles midi composing tool, and sings. Includes Mental Anguish Open Loops, Dave Fuglewicz Open Loops, and International Garbageman Open Loops.

Album: No No No
Recommended for individuals suffering from chronic insomnia. WARNING. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS PIECE WHILE DRIVING AN AUTOMOBILE OR WHILE OPERATING MACHINERY. Allowing human ears to chew this stick of numb gum has resulted in unconsciousness in ninety percent of cases studied. Credits: Goff plays Barbie Violin, Electric Bass, and Effects, incorporating variations of new open loops from Mental Anguish Open Loops and Dave Fuglewicz Open Loops. Special guest vocals from Kathleen Sebelius.
In preparation for my participation in the Hal McGee 50th Birthday Extravaganza, I have been working on sharpening up my presentation skills. The Tapegerm collective is a natural gymnasium for the building up of such musical muscles. Thus, this Stimulooper Loopustimer serves both as sonic sculpture and preview of performances to come. Goff plays Hello Kitty Stratocaster, volume/wah pedal, two distortion boxes, loop duplicator, and microcassette player loaded with recordings of odd old 33 RPM vinyls. Credits: Sharing the virtual Tapegerm stage are treatments of David Fuglewicz Open Loops, Loops From M.Nomized Guest Artist and Loops From Michael Thomas Jackson Guest Artist.
Avant Advert Avatar

02:53 Genre: Musique Concrete
Album: Yet Unreleased, A Goff-Higgins Collaborative In The Works
On a visit to Myspace, the annoying Site Pal Avatar forced itself upon me, claiming it would work for me 24/7 without pay or sleep. Naturally I employed it to carry out my dirty Dadaesque deeds. This one sounds best when played at high volume. Credits: Features cut-up arrangement of recordings samples by Dereck Higgins, Site Pal Avatar, Reflector Stratocaster from C. Goff III, loops from DJ Get Yo Fat On Open loops, Cystem Open loops, and International Garbageman Open loops.
Squeezed between a handkerchief and a sore throat lozenge, this piece attempts to capture in sound the essence of a NyQuil nightmare. Since my germie throat was incapable of howling over this recording, I leave that opportunity open for any interactive listeners. Credits: C. Goff III: midi tool, nnn from a Mikadams circuit-bent Speak & Spell, Lawrence, Kansas thunderstorm, loops from Contagion, Mental Anguish Open Loops, Hal McGee Open Loop, GEMAfreie-welten Guest Artist, and The Majestic Twelve Guest Artist. Halloween Mix
The main melodies of this theme were brought to me by forces beyond my understanding in a dream. At the time I thought it all had a sort of Simon and Garfunkel Feelin Groovy thing going on. As I began to work with these sounds in the conscious world, however, they took on the guises of weird old sailors, so I dressed them up in the sounds and words presented here. Credits: C. Goff III guitars and voices embellished with Altered Open Loops from Dave Fuglewicz Open Loops, Blind Mime Open Loops, International Garbageman Open loops, and Ed Drury Guest Artist .
This 1887 folk ballad by E.S. Thilp reveals a few 19th Century conceptions of beauty, morality, health, and humor. C. Goff III has brought to the world a 21st Century interpretation of this song after it has been allowed to ferment for 120 years. Credits: Words And Basic Tune By E.S. Thilp (1887). This production features Goffs voice and twiddlings, blended together with altered bits of open loops from Contagion, GEMAfreie-welten Guest Artist, and The Majestic Twelve Guest Artist.
This is a true story which took place September 4, 2006, a few blocks from my home in Lawrence, Kansas. The accompanying photo collage was made from the few pictures mentioned in the song. Credits: Featuring a few words from the late great hero himself, Blind Mime Open Loops, Hal McGee Open Loops, Arthur Loves Plastic Open Loops, Mellow Jeremy Guest Artist, & Michael Thomas Jackson Guest Artist. Composed, arranged, sung, & strummed by C. Goff III.
The pieces of this germ puzzle appropriately were assembled by one quite virally infected, over-medically deflected, catatonically selected, somnambulistically affected, unshaved, and unprotected. Credits: Featuring the hotter than fur recording duo "Carmelita & Penny". Germ loops provided by Buzzsaw & The Shavings Open Loops, 8th Day Rebellion Guest Artist, Hebephrenic Open Loops. Other noises shedded and shredded by C. Goff III.
SOUNDS LIKE
A dream or maybe not a dream, but like a candy bar stuffed in a horn, like a buffalo horn, the corn dried and ready to pop, then popping, then chewing, then digesting, then singing at the cocktail lounge with Sammy and Dean.

Lo Finest Show #18: The Huge Home Recordings Special (February 23, 2010)
Lo Finest 18
One of the things about cassette tapes that many home recording artists have taken advantage of is that they run continuously for long periods of time. Lots of avant-garde home recordings contain single compositions that run as long as 30 - 45 minutes. Excerpts from these extended pieces have received airplay, but rarely have the entire pieces been played on broadcast radio or even internet radio shows. So this show will feature several of these recordings all played in their entirety. Settle yourselves in for a six hour show!
All of these artists and more are included in the show:
Zan Hoffman, Dave Prescott, Alain Neffe,Conrad Schnitzler, Chris Phinney (Mental Anguish), Gen Ken Montgomery, Little Fyodor, Agog, Nick, Jeff Surak, Nadine Bal, Mike Hovancsek, John Hajeski, Keith Nicolay, Evan Cantor, Hal McGee, Brian Noring, Lord Litter, Mr. Ebu, Mike Shannon, Carl Howard, Dan Fioretti, C. Goff III.

Since 2005, the Lo Finest program has been dedicated to the appreciation of homemade recordings that were made and distributed on cassette tapes during the 1980s and 90s, hosted by veteran home recording artist Charles Rice Goff III. Thousands of sonic artists were cranking out cassettes all over the world during the 80s and 90s. The whole cassette explosion took place long before people had home computers, the internet, email, mp3s, and all that. People found out about hometapers by reading various publications that offered reviews of tapes, by listening to those rare radio broadcasts that would feature home tapes, by sending a letter to a contact address that had been printed on one of the many compilation cassettes that were created and distributed during this period, etc. Most hometapers were not approaching their craft as a means to achieving economic success, and this allowed for some incredibly free thinking endeavors to be realized. Trading tapes was common, offering a sort of sonic cultural exchange that had never really been possible before the age of inexpensive home recording technology.
