Dann McEachern started in the mid 90's as a guitar player and by 2001 was recording "electronic" music under the name Scherzo. A founding member of the Hermetic House Recording Collective, he plays in multiple projects ranging from improv folk to bar rock. Scherzo has recorded three albums to date; the latest: "Blissfully Impoverished" (2007) will be available for free download on HermeticHouse.com. The premise for this project is twofold. First, an evolving study of classical and jazz structures. Second, the manipulation of samples and loops to provide backdrops which are sometimes minimal and other times straight up cheese.

When I first heard Ed Drury's loops, I was taken back by their beauty. Usually I tweak loops to the point where you can't tell what they once were. In this case, most of the loops are only edited to help them fit in time wise. I tried to arrange his loops into a structure that is minimal yet engaging; adding down-tempo beats to carry the melody along. Credits: Ed Drury Guest Artist; Scherzo
