The Helix Nebula      (09:08)

Phinney and I set out toward The Helix Nebula, the planetary nebula closest to Earth. The remnants of a dead star, this geometrically complex structure lies 700 light years distant from our Sun, toward the constellation of Aquarius, and spans about three light-years. On this exploratory voyage Phinney and I were accompanied by crew member Cystem, a cybernetic organism whose specialty is time-warp conversions. We wanted to witness the creation of this awesome phenomenon in order to understand what the future might hold for our own Sun. We traveled at maximum velocity toward the dying star, and as we drew nearer, Cystem turned back the pages of time, like a film running in reverse... Here is an audio encoded document of our experiences.

Don Campau said, "A rich bed of texture-rama full of gooey, mind bending synths.Beautiful dynamics and a sense of deep space loneliness. All hail the Voyager."

DJ Get Yo Fat On said, "This is very USO-ish! I will definitely be putting this in my i-pod so that when we go on vacation down @ Omni\'s I can listen to this while looking for uso\'s!!!! Another good space mix Hal!"

cystem said, "this trip was a blast! i enjoyed tagging along to the outer reaches of space. such unbelieveable wonders out there! the audio documentation is a stunning representative of a fantastic cosmic journey. a sonic memoir i shall cherish long past forever! "

Fever Spoor said, "Tasty!"

buzzsaw said, "Posidonius has written that the rain and mist and clouds and wind rise to just under 5 miles above the earth and beyond this border, the air is pure, crystalline and lightly moist with no disturbances. He also says that the sun is approximately 800,000 miles above the clouds and is a stone that, so taken by Halmixes has burst into flames from the passion of it all. The vast distance is far enough from the earth to keep it from burning yet close enough that this passion can be communicated to one and all. I have much answered. Bravissimo, Hal and supremo!"
