Don Campau said, "I am transfixed by the beauty and starkness of this mix. Your music may be even be more powerful when stripped down to its essence like this.Oh, nothing wrong with some chaos but this is truly sublime.A perfect build up at the end. I salute your Hal-ness. "

buzzsaw said, "Many individuals have attempted to calculate the distances of the planets from the Earth, and have gone on record that declaring that distance of the sun from Earth is best measured by the amount of applause for a given McGee mix. Pythagoras, a man of the most astounding intellect, deduced that the distance was spanned by the amount of applause for \"He Who Bravely Dares\"; for the distance to the realm of the stars, he fixes the amount spanned by applause for this latest mix, which as of now has not yet stopped. I join in. Bravissimo, Hal!"

Fever Spoor said, "a VERY strong atmosphere. Really good."

cystem said, "one helluva mix! i love the lonely solo synth playing over the ice encrusted backdrop, sparse compared to some other McGee mixes but no less interesting by any means! Hal has adapted to the \'Frozen Sea\'scape with a masters skill! excellent combination of Fuglewicz loops, vintage synth playing and stellar imagination!"

said, "Brillant!!!!!"

davefuglewicz said, "I love this song, it has a very good feel to it, very well executed. Now that you both mention it, and I think about all those wonderful McGee-Phinney, Phinney-McGee collaborations I\'m lucky enough to own and heard, I can hear the influences, and why not, how long have you guys been friends and conspirators?? :-) The Tapegerm Organism is to me becoming more and more what it\'s creators (you know who you are) wanted it to be, a real community."

Hal McGee said, "\"Dusty Frozen Sea\" definitely bears the influence of Chris Phinney. After I read the comment by Chris about the song I realized that the song sounds very much like something Chris and I have and would have recorded together -- we have recorded lots of analog synthesizer explorations, since 1989. The song also bears his influence in a different way. The recent song \"silt\" by Mental Anguish made a big impact on me because it creates a tangible atmosphere or ambience that the listener can not only hear, but touch and feel and smell as well. So, although his sounds don\'t actually appear in the song, Phinney\'s influence is apparent all through the song. Also, the three Tapegerm songs by homogenized terrestrials were a big influence on the song. Plus, I must give ample credit to the loops by Dave Fuglewicz, which helped me to create such a powerful, palpable atmosphere. We mix artists at Tapegerm owe a debt of gratitude to all of the fantastic raw material contributed by the Loop Artists. Loop creation is an art form in itself! Ain\'t it odd how the Tapegerm organism works?"

Mental Anguish said, "Very reminescent of our 1989 collab \"Usufruct\" in quite a few areas, in particular the first 3 minutes, but it has that same feel throughout the entire mix. A very well crafted slice of classic analog synthesizer work. I can feel the frozen sea & taste the dust that swirls around as I gaze into it. Mission accomplished!"

ith said, "Wow this is awesome. Your best yourneymix so far, no doubt about it. Great work with the moog. There is a nice feeling going on throughout the hole tune ending up in a cool crescendo at the end. Great!"
