After smoking the pipe of peace with Chief Cowkeeper in the village of Cuscowilla, McGee somehow made his way to the rim of the Alachua Savanna, a vast sunken grassy marshland, 15 miles in length and 50 miles in circumference, inhabited by alligators, bison, turkeys, wild horses and cattle, sandhill cranes, orange trees, palms, magnolias, and all other manner of exotic flora and fauna.

padukem said, "This is what we said while it was happenning... Robert: What’s the name of that leader of North Korea? I keep getting visions of Communist China, May, 1968, Cultural Revolution, Sex Slaves Of Mao Tse Dong. Charlie: Dong does go well with Sex Slaves! This part sounds like the Circus of the Undead to me… Robert: Is that that movie that they filmed in Utah in the Sixties? Charlie: No, it’s the dance that they do in prison camps in Cambodia. Robert: You know there’s like this granular synthesis puddles of sound, punctuated by short bursts of binary data. Charlie: Right you are Robbie, and quite three dimentional with all that floating around! Robert: You know, my colon blockage feels better already. "

buzzsaw said, "A wondrous and riveting musical display of the consequences of the Treaty of Paris and the manufacture of a stout pair of boots. Again Hal\'s Germanian stature is hefted up yet higher. Simply superb!"
