Zebra Mann 13772 plays of 116 songs --> tapegerm home
Zee has been creative since the very beginning. Some of his first creative projects involved pencil and paper. Shunning crayons as being too far inside the lines for his outlaw tastes, he graduated to drawings in ink, then onto oil painting. Zee discovered computer art programs in the late 90's, immediately declared oil painting dead, and started transforming his ideas into pixels. From pixels of color to pixels of fonts was his next graduation. Once he realized that using just words was too confining, he discovered that transforming audio loops into creative sound sculptures was very fulfilling and gave him a broader audience to enjoy his creations. All of his works are certified * Ear Goggle Friendly *

Zee only speaks of himself in the third person when he is writing bios, because in real life, such mannerisms sound pretentious. Zee is a lot of things, but pretentious isn't one of them.

Eulogy for the Restless Dead 13:44/128k
Every time I listen to the music on my mp3 player, I get the urge to remix many of my previous sound sculptures. First one down, several more to go. I changed the title slightly, as it seems more fitting. Credits: various loops by Blind Mime, Dave Fuglewicz, Mental Anguish, CYSTEM, a reading of one of my poems by Jeremy Gluck, and several loops from my private stock of found sounds.. Genre: Dark Ambient. Created: 20 Jan 2012 03:17 PM. Plays: 18 -->please comment (0).

Zebra Mann
Hidden Voices part 1 05:49/128k
The first song to come out of my Hidden Voices project. Each selected portion of submitted loopage was slowed by at least 25%, and most were amplified many times to bring the hidden voices out. This is the first of who knows how many more. Thanks to all who submitted sounds. I hope you like it. Credits: LMNF Sounds by Michael Cosma, BF Baker's Carcasse Elevator (project-21), Dave Fuglewicz Coagula 21, and a mix by CF GoffIII. Genre: Experimental. Created: 18 Jan 2012 11:21 AM. Plays: 11 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Of The Future 08:11/128k
I love the imaginative worlds of science fiction, and return to them when I can. This song is a reflection of my fascination with the possibilities of our universe. Credits: drum loop from Anti_Gravity Workshop open loops folder, a cropped section of Dave Fuglewicz Edge_Of_Frenzy, and select vocal audio from X Minus One radio show. Genre: Alien Audio. Created: 12 Jan 2012 11:31 PM. Plays: 19 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
Sleeping Sleepy Sleep 08:04/192k
another exciting collaboration between Herr Gluck and myself, using one Bryan Baker loop snagged from the ftp folder as well as a nice length of masterful melodic entertainment borrowed from Dave's recent release of one of his early works entitled 'the multimedia procession wound its way down the stairs pausing only once to reload'. Credits: vocals by Jeremy Gluck, all other sounds mixed by Zebra Mann using loops by Dave Fuglewicz and Bryan Baker. Genre: Minimalist. Created: 09 Nov 2011 10:22 AM. Plays: 42 -->please comment (4).

Zebra Mann
And In That Dream 07:00/192k
This is another of what I hope will be a long line of collaborations between Herr Gluck and myself. Working with Jeremy's voice and words is always a treat; there are no tricks here. This has a very sparse and subtle feel to it, so make sure you turn up your volume. Credits: vocals by Jeremy Gluck, all other sounds by myself, using a handful of my own loops from the ftp folder. Genre: Dark Ambient. Created: 27 Oct 2011 12:58 AM. Plays: 32 -->please comment (3).

Zebra Mann
Something 02:53/192k
a recent collaboration between myself and the venerable Master Buzzsaw. This one is definitely worth a listen! Credits: some keyboard loops from the Zebra Mann open loops folder and added loops by Buzzsaw & The Shavings. Genre: Abstract. Created: 02 Oct 2011 10:52 PM. Plays: 36 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
2112: The 100 Years Mix 07:30/192k
Working with Jeremy's voice loops is an adventure, as you never know where they will take you. Like a magnet, his voice seems to attract just the right sounds, and the mix seems to build itself. As always, working with his stuff is a real pleasure. Credits: 100 years vocal loop by Jeremy Gluck, several assorted KB loops from the Zebra Mann Open Loops Folder. Genre: Mood Music. Created: 17 Sep 2011 05:58 PM. Plays: 48 -->please comment (3).

Zebra Mann
The Lighthouse 04:16/192k
The title of this one is a metaphor. Like all metaphors, the truly important part is what you take from it, not what is in the description. The spoken word loop is taken from Jeremy Gluck's Sane World. Jeremy can be rest assured I did nothing to mask his wonderful voice or words as I may have done a time or two before. :) Credits: one loop by Omnitechnomatrix, one loop by Jeremy Gluck, and a couple of random bass loops from the Zebra Mann Open Loops folder. Genre: Experimental. Created: 07 Sep 2011 07:34 PM. Plays: 52 -->please comment (4).

Zebra Mann
Only One 15:21/192k
With some minor manipulations to a Blind Mime piano loop and even less manipulation to a Dave Fuglewicz string ensemble loop, I created a soundtrack. A soundtrack to a movie that has only been shown in my mind's eye to a select audience of one. You don't get to see the movie, but at least you can listen to the soundtrack. Credits: one piano loop by Blind Mime, a string loop by Dave Fuglewicz, and a couple Zebra Mann bass loops.. Genre: Minimalist. Created: 03 Sep 2011 12:05 PM. Plays: 42 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Skeleton Warrior Swordfight 03:38/192k
In the latest MMO I have been playing, there is a battle in a dungeon with skeleton warriors. This new mix seems like the background music it should have. I usually have the in-game music turned off, so what the original game music does sound like I have no idea. At the very least this mix will make a spooky addition to my annual Halloween display. Thanks to OTM for providing an awesome loop for me to mangle. Credits: one loop by Omnitechomatrix, several loops from the Zebra Mann Open Loops folder. Genre: Ambient Drum N Bass. Created: 28 Aug 2011 03:28 PM. Plays: 35 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
The Lair of That Which Has No Name 03:49/192k
Another Halloween mix put together with only four loops, thoroughly mangled in Wave Pad. The title should tell the story, and anything I say here would just be adding gore to the zombie, so to speak. :) Credits: one drum loop from Anti-Gravity Workshop, one TJ loop and two ZM loops from the Zebra Mann Open Loops folder.. Genre: Abstract. Created: 23 Aug 2011 09:07 PM. Plays: 36 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
Disfigured by Midnight 04:34/192k
The first mix of what I hope will be many more to come, dealing with my favorite time of year, and the holiday I look forward to in October. This one might give you nightmares, so I'd suggest listening to it with the lights on. As always, this one is ear goggle friendly. Credits: one loop each by Dave Fuglewicz and Mental Anguish, from a special loop project, and a handful of my bass loops, curiously rearranged.. Genre: Bloody Hell. Created: 19 Aug 2011 09:41 PM. Plays: 58 -->please comment (3).

Zebra Mann
Never Give Up Buzz 03:46/192k
This one is evidence of my first foray back into Germania after a long hiatus. If only it can bring our beloved Herr Buzzsaw back as well. Credits: Buzzsaw & the Shavings voice loop, one sound FX loop and one A string Bass Guitar loop by Zebra Mann, all mangled together by yours truly.. Genre: Abstract. Created: 15 Jul 2011 12:00 PM. Plays: 78 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Perfunctory Movements: Eulogy of the Dead (Remix) 06:14/192k
A remix of a recent song, parts of it altered to allow the shining examples of Jeremy's velvet monotone to be heard in all their glory. The truth is, his readings of my words sounded much better BEFORE I uploaded it, I blame the Internet for covering over his voice the first time around. This one might even be better than the first, but I'll leave that up to the listener. Credits: three loops from Blind Mime and a spoken word poem by Jeremy Gluck, plus two of my own loops, mangled in Wave Pad. Genre: Interdimensional. Created: 01 May 2011 01:05 PM. Plays: 94 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
Perfunctory Movements: Eulogy of the Dead 03:27/192k
Years ago, I wrote a short story about a man who had no idea that he was dead, and he also had no explanation for the things that kept happening to him. The very large crow at the end of the tale truly scared him, well, for lack of a better analogy, to death. In that story, there was a book of poetry. In this mix, Jeremy reads two of those poems. As for the rest of it, the rest of this mix was created from three of Blind Mime's fantastic loops, sufficiently mangled to leave them unrecognizable from the originals. Credits: three loops from Blind Mime and a spoken word poem by Jeremy Gluck, mangled in Wave Pad. Genre: Interdimensional. Created: 28 Apr 2011 12:28 AM. Plays: 79 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Moosehead on the Wall 06:00/192k
I sent one of my ancient poems to Jeremy Gluck to get a reading, and it turned out incredible. I added some select loops from various renowned Germers and manipulated a few found sounds captured from the Internet. This mix is the result. This one is ear goggle mandatory. Thanks to Jeremy for indulging me! Credits: loops by Anti-Gravity Workshop, David Fuglewicz, Blind Mime, and Jeremy Gluck. Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 26 Apr 2011 12:31 AM. Plays: 80 -->please comment (2).

The Official Sermon of the Noisy Church of Hal 20:14/192k
Settle down, settle down. Please, everyone settle down. Welcome to the first meeting of the Noisy Church of Hal. Our pastor, friend and all around good egg, Hal McGee will now deliver his first sermon. Although it runs a bit long, it is full of some great points of wisdom. Please pay attention, and save your questions of what exactly this church is about for the end of the service. Credits: assorted loops by: Hal McGee, Omnitechnomatrix, Dave Fuglewicz, and Mental Anguish. Genre: Humor. Created: 13 Apr 2011 03:26 PM. Plays: 94 -->please comment (3).

Zebra Mann
Mythos of One (My Life Will Not End mix) 06:59/192k
An eerie flight through the inner space of the outer sphere of the under where over and near a version of a place that closely resembles galactic space, in an offhand sort of way. Try reading that sentence backwards if reading it forwards doesn't make any sense. This one is ear goggle mandatory, played as loud as you can stand it. Some sounds are beyond the limit of human hearing, so I cannot be held responsible if you let your dog listen to it. Credits: Dave Fuglewicz Open Loops, Blind Mime Infection Loops, Jeremy Gluck My_Life_Will_Not_End voice loop.. Genre: Dark Ambient. Created: 12 Mar 2011 10:25 PM. Plays: 90 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
HE4ME1 08:01/192k
Some days, you just want to pop someone's cranium like a champagne cork. Dark music for dark thoughts. The title is an acronym for an act of vengeance that even the gods would find unspeakable. Listen to it loud, but preferably not through ear goggles. Credits: Blind Mime Open Loops, CYSTEM Open Loops, Dave Fuglewicz Open Loops and one of my own loops.. Genre: Hold A Grudge. Created: 11 Mar 2011 01:56 PM. Plays: 71 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Brandon's Theme 02:44/192k
I recently started writing a novella, and one of my characters needed a theme song. Listening to this, you will realize how dark of a story it is turning out to be. Credits: bit of loopage borrowed from Omnitechnomatrix's Shiba and a bit of bass from Blind Mime.. Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 05 Mar 2011 11:00 PM. Plays: 75 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
The Sky is Raining Stones (Don't Explain Remix) 06:00/192k
There's a place in most of us where the shadows are always long, the rain is always constant, and the woods are full of monsters. Despite the persistent wish for the warmth of sunshine, the reality of the cold stinging rain is never very far away. Credits: 2 loops by Anti-Gravity Workshop, Don't Explain song loop by Jeremy Gluck, mangled up in tangled up knots by Zebra Mann. Genre: Experimental. Created: 30 Dec 2010 09:37 PM. Plays: 80 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Unterzone Finality 13:49/192k
I spent over a week trying to create this mix. Out of many possible choices, this is the only one that seemed worthy of posting. The other would-be mixes have been deleted. Billions of electrons were mercilessly obliterated in my quest for perfection. Perhaps they did not all die in vain. Credits: two loops by Axel Mundi Guest Artist, each severely tweaked and Jeremy Gluck's Unterzone spoken voice loop.. Genre: Minimalist. Created: 26 Dec 2010 02:50 AM. Plays: 76 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Pluto Will Always Be a Planet to Me 06:01/192k
I took a handful of loops from the November 2010 ALP folder, added some of my own odd sounds (i.e. moaning wind, caterpillar tracks in the snow, etc.) tossed it all into my Wave Pad program, swirled in some VST plug-ins, and this was the result. Oh and by the way, there are nine planets, I don't care what anybody else says! This is best listened to on your ear goggles while sitting back in a quiet place with your eyes closed. Credits: select loops from Arthur Loves Plastic, and some of my private recorded found sounds.. Genre: Alien Audio. Created: 18 Dec 2010 01:13 AM. Plays: 70 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Mechanical Revolution (Sane World Mix) 09:30/192k
I took one loop from each artist, (two from Hal); mangled it beyond recognition, and added a nice selection from JSG's Sane World. I mixed them all together with some machine noise I'd recorded recently, and this is the result. You should listen to this very loud, but not through ear goggles, as that could cause permanent loss of hearing. If you are already deaf, then disregard the warning. Credits: Blind Mime Open Loops, Jeremy Gluck, two loops from the Hal McGee IEAAP and some unreleased found sounds of my own.. Genre: So Far Off The Wall It's Down The Street. Created: 11 Dec 2010 10:41 PM. Plays: 97 -->please comment (3).

Zebra Mann
Amphibian's Latest Prophecy 06:39/192k
Just playing around with some great loops and enjoying the way they so easily came together. The name really has no meaning, it was just a way to honor the loop artist. Please enjoy my latest mix. Credits: Loops by Arthur Loves Plastic.. Genre: Awesome Audio. Created: 02 Dec 2010 02:26 AM. Plays: 65 -->please comment (0).

Zebra Mann
The Approaching Storm 05:03/192k
This one came together almost too easily. The only logical explanation is that I had some very wonderful brand new loops to work with this time. I'm pretty proud of this piece; it seems I finally have a mix worthy of the Tape Germ Collective. Duct tape your ear goggles to your head, you are going to want to listen to this one more than once. Thanks Bev, I love working with your loops. :) Credits: all loops by Arthur Loves Plastic. Genre: Awesome Audio. Created: 27 Nov 2010 11:32 PM. Plays: 72 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
Baron von Richthofen @ the Crystal Jungles of Mars 04:40/192k
Two of the greatest mixes to ever appear on Tape Germ can now be listened to at the same time. And to make it even better, I added a very tasty bace loop from OTM. Credits: One mix each from Buzzsaw & the Shavings and Dave Fuglewicz mangled by me, and sauteed with a sweet tasting loop from the new Omnitechnomatrix November 2010 folder. Genre: Experimental. Created: 21 Nov 2010 08:11 PM. Plays: 72 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Jellied Ear Drums with Cranberry Sauce 04:14/192k
With the holidays coming up, I decided it was time for a little bit of meal preparation. This is a brand new recipe, compliments of the new OTM Loops. Is that cranberry sauce? It looks like cranberry sauce. Um, let's hope it's cranberry sauce. Wear your ear goggles, but keep your fingers on the volume control, we wouldn't want to inadvertently make more cranberry sauce between your ears. :) Credits: Omnitechnomatrix Loops. Genre: Ambient Drum N Bass. Created: 21 Nov 2010 12:50 AM. Plays: 70 -->please comment (3).

Zebra Mann
Countess Bathory Watches the Dark Side of the Sun 06:27/192k
The next in my audio series of forcing two single mixes by two TG artists to co-habitate, and then adding a random loop from a third artist to help sew it all together. Hmm, I seem to mixing my metaphors as well. Credits: One mix each from Hal McGee, Buzzsaw & the Shavings, and one very sweet bass loop from Blind Mime Open Loops tossed in for flavor.. Genre: Experimental. Created: 09 Nov 2010 01:26 AM. Plays: 85 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
An Intolerable Delay for a Vast Expanse of Nothing 05:40/192k
I took parts of one song each from the CYSTEM and Buzzsaw pages, tossed them in a blender, set them on 'stir' and tossed in a tasty loop from Sir Dave Von Fuglewicz. I hope this mix doesn't give anyone indigestion. :) Credits: Two very cool mixes by CYSTEM and Buzzsaw chopped and fileted, plus one jammin' loop from the Dave Fuglewicz open loops folder.. Genre: Experimental. Created: 02 Nov 2010 11:55 PM. Plays: 89 -->please comment (3).

Zebra Mann
Clowning Around 04:08/128k
There is no way to describe this mix other than to say; if an evil clown went to a specialist to get an EKG, and you stole the results and put them to music, this is what you might get. This is my contribution to Tape Germ for Halloween 2010. Ear goggles are mandatory. Credits: one loop each by: Arthur Loves Plastic Open Loops, Omnitechnomatrix Open Loops,, Hal McGee, and Hebephrenic. Also, one loop from my private voice recordings. . Genre: Humor. Created: 19 Oct 2010 09:12 PM. Plays: 91 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
Mountains of Madness 6 Remix 05:20/128k
Deep within the bowels of the earth, Danforth and I found the remains of young Gedney and the missing dog, plus a sledge and some other things taken from Lake's camp. Who had taken them we were not sure, but I had my suspicions, and even now, I dare not repeat them. It is all just too horrible to contemplate. Danforth had earlier mentioned that he saw something too terrible for words deep in the depths of the abyss, but he refuses to relate to me what it was. In fact, he denies seeing anything at all, most of the time. I'm quite afraid his mind will never heal from our experience. I have implored all other explorers to never go to those Mountains of Madness, for if they do, I fear it will mean the end of all Mankind. Credits: One loop from gemafrie-welten; one loop from The Other Mind, and one loop from Diskhead out of the 10 Yr. Infection project. Plus a bit of noise from the Zebra Mann Open Loops folder. . Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 02 Oct 2010 11:22 PM. Plays: 74 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
Mountains of Madness 5 Remix 03:08/128k
When we returned to civilization, the news of our exploits brought others forward who wished to visit those vistas of Antarctica. I tried to dissuade them, but they were not inclined to listen to young Dansforth or myself. So with a great reluctance, I have begun the task of telling the world of the Truth of the things we found beyond those eternal mountains, and what madness would await those who would go back there. Perhaps it is still not too late. Credits: Loops by Decaying Machine Guest Artist, Voice Loop by Mentally Anguished from the 10 yr. Infection Project, and a little bit of backfill from ye olde Zebra Mann himself. . Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 01 Oct 2010 07:41 PM. Plays: 77 -->please comment (0).

Zebra Mann
Mountains of Madness 4 Remix 04:17/128k
Some hours after our landing at Lake's camp, we sent a guarded report of our findings, including the fact that the Professor's entire party was wiped out by a dreadful wind storm. Eleven men dead, young Gedney and one of the dogs gone missing. None of the other dogs survived. We salvaged what we could, and left behind that which was completely destroyed or lost. The significance of our report was not what we mentioned, but that which we found impossible to relate to anyone outside of that place. We hurriedly gathered all that we could, and left that accursed land of death. Credits: Hal McGee Open Loops, Hebephrenic Loops 2010, gemafrie-welten loops and a lil bit o' stuffing by Zebra Mann. Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 30 Sep 2010 08:54 PM. Plays: 82 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Mountains of Madness 3 Remix 07:19/128k
With nearly a dozen men, seven dogs, a sledge, food and fuel, we loaded up our last remaining airplane to go in search of Professor Lake. What we found is beyond words; a hideous landscape of soaring mountains that I could not help but feel were evil things. Little did we know that something even more horrifying awaited us at Lake's camp. Credits: Loops by Arther Loves Plastic, Anti-Gravity Workshop, Jesus Crash My Soft Synth from the 10 Yr Infection files, and some fun stuffing from the Zebra Mann Open Loops pile.. Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 28 Sep 2010 07:11 PM. Plays: 93 -->please comment (0).

Zebra Mann
Mountains of Madness 2 Remix 08:01/128k
Lake and his men took their find back to camp. The dogs went crazy from the smell of the things, so the men had to drag the sledges back without their help. The dogs were placed in a special enclosure upwind of the laboratory where Lake began his study of the alien forms, including doing a dissection of one that seemed to be damaged. He radioed his findings to us, and then later, we lost all contact with him and his party. Credits: Loops by Heuristics, Inc, Dave Fuglewicz, and Mentally Anguished from the 10 year infection project, with some stuffing from the Zebra Mann Open Loops folder.. Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 24 Sep 2010 10:06 AM. Plays: 87 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
Mountains of Madness 1 Remix 09:55/128k
The arrival in Antarctica was uneventful. In the bitter cold of that land of icy-death, discoveries were made, including a range of mountains found by Professor Lake to the Northwest. While Lake made exploratory digs through the rocky hills below the mountains, the rest of the party awaited news of his finds, and tried to tune out the almost sentient piping of the winds that blew incessantly through the landscape. There were a few radio messages sent to the outside world at first landing, but that ceased when Lake discovered something beyond belief. His boring machine had opened up a cave, and in it, fossils of truly alien life forms from another time. Credits: Loops by Mellow Jeremy guest artist, Datawhore, Buzzsaw & the Shavings, with plenty o' stuffing from the Zebra Mann Open Loops folder . Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 22 Sep 2010 10:56 PM. Plays: 81 -->please comment (2).

Libra Signing Off 01:34/128k
The last in the Zodiac series, and this one ends with just a touch of finality. Credits: Assorted Loops by Omnitechnomatrix, C. Goff III, and Buzzsaw.. Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 14 Sep 2010 01:32 AM. Plays: 64 -->please comment (1).

My lovely wife is a Virgo, and like her, this little mix can't help but to put a smile on my face. Credits: Open Loops from Anti Gravity Workshop and Omnitechnomatrix. Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 14 Sep 2010 01:28 AM. Plays: 71 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
The Spider's Lair - remix 24:16/128k
This one is a soundtrack to a non-existent movie. In the plot of this non-movie, two stalwart explorers, drawn on by their scientific curiosity, find an entrance in the side of a mountain. They travel for miles inside of a mysterious cave, following a trail of undecipherable hieroglyphics. The journey is long, the cave narrows the deeper they go and finally, they find that the cave is a dead-end. They have mistakenly explored the abode of a giant spider and the hieroglyphs are nothing more than random shapes in walls lined with ancient webs. The ending is fine for the spider, but not so fine for the hapless explorers. Ear goggles are mandatory, and the louder, the better. Credits: Select loops by Dub Jay from the ftp past members folder, some found sound loops out of my Open Loops folder and a bit of music sampled from an old horror movie. Genre: Mood Music. Created: 12 Sep 2010 07:58 PM. Plays: 79 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
Lucifer's Lounge Singer 05:16/128k
I put this one together using only the loops I recently recorded at the VFW this weekend. I think it qualifies as a single artist mix, but I won't make a habit of using JUST my own loops. (That isn't fair to the other fine loop artists on TapeGerm). The title refers to the fact that if terrible lounge singers go to Hell, then this just might be what eternity sounds like. Credits: A handful of loops from the Zebra Mann Open Loops folder. Genre: Alien Audio. Created: 07 Sep 2010 01:09 AM. Plays: 79 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
The Aquarius Mix 05:39/128k
This mix is dedicated to MPC, the incredibly creative welder that built the awesome spider sculpture for my yard. I've known this man for nearly my entire life, and he just happens to be the only person I know to be born under this sign. Ear goggles are mandatory on this one folks! Credits: One loop each from International Garbageman, CYSTEM, and Axel Mundi Guest Artist. . Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 04 Sep 2010 11:52 PM. Plays: 69 -->please comment (2).

Capricious Capricorn 01:57/128k
If you are a member of the zodiac known as Capricorn, I hate to state the obvious, but, Here's Your Sign! Credits: Open Loops by Arthur Loves Plastic, Blind Mime Open Loops, Dave Fuglewicz open loops, and Omnitechnomatrix Open Loops. Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 25 Aug 2010 10:04 AM. Zebra Mann
The Belligerent Bovine 02:40/128k
Usually I try to modify loops from several different artists for each Zodiac series song, but today, I got lost in the AGW folders. Sometimes that happens. This one is best played as loud as you can stand it, but turn it up too much and it will melt your ear goggles, and probably blow your brain out the back of your skull. I think you'd be best to just stick with external speakers. :) Credits: Assorted loops by AntiGravity workshop. Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 21 Aug 2010 10:51 AM. Plays: 71 -->please comment (3).

Gemini Twins 02:18/128k

The Manipulative Crab 01:36/128k
Of the people I've met in my life that were born under this sign, I discovered that they had a tendency to become unpleasant and painful to be around. So maybe Cancer isn't a great name for a star sign, since it is also the name of a very dreaded disease. This is the fifth mix in the Zodiac series. Credits: Loops by Arthur Loves Plastic, Blind Mime, and Buzzsaw. Genre: Abstract Ambient. Created: 14 Aug 2010 06:22 PM. Plays: 74 -->please comment (2).

Zebra Mann
The Valkyrie Leader 03:21/128k
The fourth in the Zodiac series. The Valkyrie in the title is attributed to Wagner's famous opera, as the original Die WalkĂĽre always brings to my mind centaur warriors on the battlefield. Since Sagittarius is represented by a centaur, it all just seems to fit. Any resemblance to the original Die WalkĂĽre is purely coincidental. The Spider's Lair 16:26/128k
A conversation at work came up today concerning the existence of an afterlife and reincarnation. I said that I did not believe in such things, but that if it were possible, I would like to come back in my next life as a spider, and have all my enemies come back as flies. Seems fitting, and somehow appropriate. Wear your ear goggles, this one is quite the ride! Credits: Select loops by Dub Jay from the ftp past members folder. Genre: Bloody Hell. It Rained All Night 04:32/128k
Just playing around with some bass loops, and seeing what I can come up with using my newest incarnation of Wave Pad. For some inexplicable reason, I have a fondness for the bass sound. I either need to find someone local that plays the bass, or maybe take up the instrument myself. A folder full of bass loops would keep me happy for years! :) Credits: Made with just 3 loops by Blind Mime; Starsweeper, Bass 2, and Bass Squeal.. Genre: Bass. Created: 26 Jul 2010 01:31 AM. Ethanol Mind Meld 06:41/128k
In a distant galaxy lies a planet called Inebria. The inhabitants of that planet are known as the Ethanoli. They have a very highly developed psi ability that allows them to subdue their enemies telepathically, rendering them helpless. The technique, which is called the Ethanol Mind Meld, causes those afflicted by it to stagger about clumsily, and also makes them prone to sing songs horribly off-key. Ear goggles are suggested strongly for this one. Credits: assorted Contagion loops from the ftp folder.. Genre: Alien Audio. Created: 24 Jul 2010 09:53 PM. Plays: 71 -->please comment (3).

I have a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks, and that can only mean one thing. Summer is on its way out and my favorite holiday cannot be too far away. Theme Song for Iconoclastic Traditionalists 09:58/128k
For every musical taste in the world, there is a musical genre to satisfy it. Whether your music is made with precise and expensive musical instruments in a symphonic setting, a garage band, at a computer keyboard, or even just by pounding two rocks on a hollow log, there is probably a song out there that you know by heart. However, if you take those two rocks and pound them against the sides of your head, you can become your very own musical instrument and write your own theme song in the process. Of course, taking this sort of a musical journey comes with its own hazards, so please be careful. This mix is ear goggle friendly. Credits: 12 Loop Challenge. Genre: Noise. While surfing the channels on the television in the hotel room during my recent vacation, I came across a program too outrageous to believe, so I recorded it. The World Without Us 07:13/128k
A dark little piece inspired by a book I read last year by Alan Weisman. This mix also reflects the statement of Eminent Australian scientist Professor Frank Fenner, who helped to wipe out smallpox. We Are All Travelers in This Place 07:35/128k
Traveling by train means one will soon tire of the scenery and turn inwards towards one's fellow companions. I met a number of individuals with interesting stories to tell. Sometimes, your fellow travelers don't even know they are telling a story, for they describe their lives by simple interaction with the world around them. Slap on the ear goggles and enjoy the ride. NOTE: The echo in this mix was added for effect; just so you know that the acoustics on a train are NOT that great. :) Credits: Mental Anguish loops, and various found sound wavs, recorded by ZM. Forgotten Isle 13:36/128k
Back in the ancient past, when humans first began to build boats and explore the unknown oceans, they found a mysterious island far out to sea. It's discovery soon led to an avoidance of the place, for it was inhabited by a race of giants, each a mighty warrior and all who met them were soon destroyed. They were fierce and fearless in battle. In the end the long-lived race of giant warriors were not defeated by any mortal enemies, but by the keeper of all living things; time. They were lost due to the passing of the ages. Ear goggles are mandatory, and I hope you find this mix an audio feast. Credits: loops by bhudgins and Mental Anguish ftp folder loops. On a faraway planet made up of deadly hydrocarbons, where one whiff of the air would kill an unprotected human instantly, we take our submarine down into the depths of a nearby sea. In this ocean made up of methane and ammonia and other lethal chemicals, we discover the undeniable truth that exists in all of the universe. Life persists, no matter the odds. Alien Orchestra 06:09/128k
What is the penultimate proof of intelligence? Some would say technology; others would say morality. I for one would think that the best way to tell if a species is sentient and intelligent would be by listening to their music. If a species makes music, and it sounds like something more than beating two rocks against a hollow log, then that to me would be proof of intelligent life. Enjoy this one, and keep watching the skies, the alien orchestra might be closer than you think! Credits: International Garbageman Open loops. Genre: Alien Audio. Created: 04 Jun 2010 10:39 PM. Lost in Translation 05:42/128k
Just a silly little piece about two alien space-faring species that meet on the edge of the Sclopetarius Star Cluster. A battle between the Lycosidae and the Larinioides ensues. One is the winner; the other is reduced to space debris. All over a simple misunderstanding, and the fact that computer-enhanced language translators simply cannot be trusted. Wear your ear goggles and get ready to smile. Credits: Assorted loops by DJ Get Yo Fat On, Omnitechnomatrix, Hal McGee, and Diskhead, from the 10 Years Infection Project. Genre: Alien Audio. One Voice 13:20/128k
This is a serious mix. I rarely do serious pieces; I love a good laugh, and having a twisted sense of humor makes that easy for me. Most of my mixes are humorous, or based on Halloween themes. This one is scary, but not in the typical fun sense of that October holiday. This one is seriously frightening, because it contains a message of tragedy. After hearing the serious, purely human vocal loops by MA in the 10 Year Infection project, this piece was destined to be created. Mortality Revisited 07:21/128k
I took two really great mixes, added a couple of ear friendly loops and blended them all together. Why it didn't turn out sounding like a handful of ball bearings thrown into a kitchen blender set on liquify is anybody's guess. It has a very somber and melacholy feel to it, so I'm hoping the next one I try is a little more uplifting. Dust off your ear goggles and crank up the volume. After to listening to my Brave New World Series several times at work on CD, I figured out that one of the songs needed to be a bit longer. So after I got home tonight, I made it longer. Then I decided it needed a few more effects. So I added a few more effects. After giving it some thought, I realized that maybe some more reverb might be cool. So I added more reverb. Then I guessed that adding something new to the mix wouldn't hurt, so I added something new. That's me, I just can't leave well enough alone. Wear your ear goggles for the journey, it'll be worth it. The final episode of my experiments with the loops of C. Goff III. Nothing is implied with this track other than it contains some pretty darn good advice for those of us who never learned quite how to fit in to the rest of the herd. Life is about choices, your results may vary. Credits: C. Goff III Guest Artist loops. Genre: Noise. Created: 08 Dec 2009 11:50 PM. Plays: 139 -->please comment (1).

150 Billion Light Years to Earth 08:25/128k
The aliens traveled 150 billion light years to Earth just to say Hello. The reason it took them so long and that they ended up traveling so far was because their GPS device had an electrical short in its wiring. It seems that they lost their way. Oh well, better late than never. Credits: C. Goff III Guest Artist loops. Genre: Experimental. Created: 08 Dec 2009 12:17 AM. Plays: 134 -->please comment (1).

10 Buzzsaw and the Battle for his Freedom 04:57/128k
Buzzsaw is told he must defeat the alien champion in order win his freedom. Should he fail, he is destined to spend the remaining days of his life as an inhabitant of the alien king's intergalactic zoological park. The challenge is a drinking contest, and mass quantities of alien wines are placed between the two contestants. Buzzsaw does his best, and the winner is decided by which of the two contestants is left standing. 09 Arrival on an Alien World 10:36/128k
As the ship enters a strange solar system, and lands on the fourth planet from the blue sun, Buzz arrives on the homeworld of his captors. Not one for small talk, he makes a singular demand. He is led through a large and crowded city of fantastic spires and multi-tiered towers, past large groups of aliens that have come out to see the strange bipedal being their survey crew has captured. Buzz is led through many winding streets and twisting tunnels for what seems like hours until he is brought before the palace of the alien king. 08 Inter-Galactic Excursion 05:03/128k
It has been said that in space no one can hear you scream. In this instance, I would assume that the fact that in space no one can hear your order to have your glass refilled with Dom Perignon Rose 1990 would even be more horrific. With a dry mouth and his belly rumbling, Buzzsaw watches out the window as, after his interminable journey across the universe, his captors land the spacecraft on the surface of their home planet. After miraculously surviving a horrific auto crash with nary a scratch, Buzzsaw and company make their way to a down home Cajun feast and celebration on the bayou. Buzz wanders away from the main group to fetch another bottle of wine, and suddenly finds himself abducted by unusual strangers with an even more unusual mode of transportation. After he is dragged aboard their shiny craft, Buzzsaw looks out of a small window and he sees the only home he's ever known dwindle away to a pale blue dot. 06 Long Hike in the Middle of Nowhere 05:20/128k
After leaving the ocean behind, Buzz and his compatriots find themselves in an arid and hilly region. One of his friends mentions a nearby restaurant, but they arrive only to find it boarded up and abandoned. They journey on, down a desolate and empty road, growing thirsty and weary of the wind and the dust. Just as things look grimmest, a small smudge appears in the distance. It grows until it takes shape as a souped-up muscle car racing towards them. The driver, a wild-eyed, long-haired ne'er-do-well, offers them a lift, which they of course gladly accept. They are in for the ride of their lives as the maniac behind the wheel decides to take his share of the road from both lanes at once. Unfortunately, he comes to this decision just as they arrive at the city limits of a fair-sized town and the traffic begins to thicken. 05 Journey Under the Sea 11:23/128k
Buzzsaw and company reach the sea shore, letting their galloping mounts go free. They spend some time along the beach, when suddenly a ship is spotted. It is distinctly unfamiliar and quite exactly unlike the one piloted by the captain in the story by the French author whose name rhymes with Fools Turn. Once aboard, Buzz and his friends travel under the sea to view life forms of a sort never seen by landlubbers before being deposited upon the far shore, to continue on their way. Wear your ear goggles and a scuba suit! Credits: Buzzsaw & the Shavings open loops, various Buzzsaw mixes fileted with a sharp wit. Genre: So Far Off The Wall It's Down The Street. As Buzz and his compatriots leave the drunken conductor and engineer behind, they set off on foot across the mountains. Soon it becomes apparent that some of his entourage are not as fit as their leader. Buzz, ever thinking, gets an idea to ease their suffering. Seeking help from an unusual source, it takes a couple of tries to get what he asks for. Even a hero has a bad day sometimes. Soon Buzz and his relieved companions head out of the mountains, across the plains and towards the sea. Credits: Buzzsaw & the Shavings open loops, various Buzzsaw mixes fileted with a sharp wit.. 03 The Irresponsible Conductor Gets His Due 05:50/128k
The train finally slows to a safe stop at the bottom of the mountain, but Buzzsaw is incensed by the haphazard way that the railroad is being run. Upon exiting the dining car and finding all his friends still in good health, he takes the conductor and engineer to task, and they cower before him. He reminds all of us that there are other ways to travel and begins to cast about for a new mode of transportation. 02 Runaway Trained Opera Singer 03:47/128k
As Buzzsaw regales us with his knowledge of all things spiritual (as in rum or cognac and not anything concerning the occult) it has been discovered that the conductor and engineer have been drinking in the engine compartment. With no one at the helm, the train careens out of control down the side of the mountain. Fortunately, the shades are closed so we cannot see the landscape rushing by at a breakneck speed. Lonely Walk in the Woods 01:28/128k
There is never a safe time to go walking in the woods at night, but it is especially dangerous during a new moon, when it is impossible to see what lurks amid the trees, even after the Autumn leaves have all fallen. The stars cast light, but it is not enough to see clearly. The sounds you hear, are they real or are they hallucinations? Let's hope they are the latter, and only caused by your mind playing tricks on you. If it is something else, well, you might not make it back home again. A mix put together to celebrate the season. It's time to start thinking seriously about my annual Halloween display, and this little piece is good for getting me in the mood. The Orkin man can probably do something about the crickets, but as for the ghouls and other pests in this mix, he may not have anything in his sprayer that strong. In a dark and forbidding landscape, nameless and beyond any map drawn by mortal men, lies a place of unending horror where evil runs rampant. "Well, one voice is definitely obvious in this piece, Mr. Mann. I can clearly hear the ghost of Carl Jung telling me to go to sleep and dream about Rick Perry telling me to drive to South Carolina and clandestinely vote for Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin in the Republicrat Primary. Then of course, Jung tells me to swallow the dose of cyanide that I have waiting in the Heart of Dixie Cup. SPOTLIGHT TRACK

Mountains of Madness 6 Remix

Plus a bit of noise from the Zebra Mann Open Loops folder. .

New keyboard loops, with style
posted: 02 Feb 2012 11:12 AM

I've recently uploaded 20 new keyboard loops, and they come pre-mangled to help cut down the amount of work you have to do to them. Feel free to peruse them at your leisure, and enjoy yourself. They will be labeled as excerpts from 160, 161, etc. If all else fails, check the date. That usually helps. :)

I am looking for some interesting loops/recordings of everyday sounds that can be manipulated by slowing them down. I have found that some musical notes as well as other found sounds reveal hidden voices/sounds/noises when slowed down to the extreme. I would be interested in doing this effect on sounds anyone could send to me for a compilation project. Email me a small sound file that you would like to submit to this project. Not all sounds will be able to be manipulated in this way, but I will let you know which ones work before creating the finished collaboration. Let's find the hidden in the ordinary and mundane.

After finding a used Yamaha portable keyboard for a great price recently, I sat down to play with it and had more fun than should be possible for humans. I've recorded over an hour's worth of me messing around on it, and the first batch of many more keyboard loops from yours truly will soon be on their way. They will be labeled as KBL and a number. KBL = Key Board Loops. I may have finally found the instrument I was genetically engineered to play!

I've been playing around on the Ibanez bass guitar again, and this time, I did it in the house. So the loops are much lower in volume because the dog hates the way I play. You will find them in my Open Loops Folder shortly. They are labeled A30 thru E30, but the letters don't mean anything, they are simply a way for me to keep them in some semblance of order. Because without order, you know what we have, yes, we have ice cream!

I recently picked up a SECOND bass guitar, as the price was right. It is an Ibanez GSR 200, just a couple of years old. The music store put brand new strings on it for FREE. The other day, my wife and I hooked it up to the amp and put it through its paces. She has actually had some guitar lessons in the past, so she is more familiar with the instrument than I am. I have uploaded a few loops from our strumming session to the Open Loops folder. Her loops are marked TJ and a number, mine are marked ZM and a number. Enjoy them, as there are many more to come in this dual-user sequence.

I have been playing around with my new toy, and I've put together some pretty nice loops for my fellow Germanians to enjoy. They are located in both the Open Loops folder as well as the ftp folder. They are listed in a fairly simple manner. String name, recording session, dash loop name. For those of you with access to the ftp folder, the loops from the first session are in the July 2011 folder, and those from the second session are in the folder marked August 2011 in the Bass Guitar 2011 folder. The same numbering/identification system is used for those in the Open Loops folder as well. Some of the loops are long, and some are very short, but feel free to do with them what you will. Play around with them as much or as little as you want, I know that I plan on doing the same. I've had so much fun with other people's loops in the past, this is my way of giving a little back to my fellow Germers.

I recently purchased a used Charvel/Jackson bass guitar. To put it short and sweet, there will soon be new loops available in the Zebra Mann Open Loops folder. I hope you enjoy them. The bass guitar seems to be a neglected instrument in Germania. Not any more. I am determined to make it as popular as its' electric cousin. I may even go so far as to learning how to play the damn thing for real, how scary is that? :)

I recently purchased a bass guitar from a fellow noisician. As soon as it arrives, I will plug it into the amp I purchased last year, and begin experimenting with noise. I plan on creating many new loops to post to my open loops folder. I also plan on creating the sorts of sounds I always hear in my head, but cannot find anywhere else. I have been away, but I shall return. My intention is twofold. (1.) to make loops that I can manipulate/mangle to my heart's content, and more importantly, (2.) to get Herr Buzzsaw to return to the tapegerm fold. It is time for our wayward, smartly dressed Germanian to come home and indulge us with his audio fantasies. I mean to steal him away from the camera's muse and bring him back to where he belongs, here at TG.

My Recent Gluck Mix
posted: 27 Dec 2010 12:16 AM

I probably should clarify something. I posted with my new mix Unterzone Finality that it took me a week to finish this mix. That is a bit of a mistake. In the course of a week, I made several different mixes with those voice loops. Using the VST plug-ins with my Wave Pad program caused several crashes, and I hadn't saved any of those previous mixes. This is the only one that survived, mostly because I only used VST Plug-ins that I knew were safe, and I stayed in the safe zone of DirectX effects in WP. I also practiced saving after each use of an effect. The loops that I mixed from Alex Mundi Guest Artist were created many months ago. I had created them for another mixing project, found them unsuitable at the time, and just recently rediscovered them while searching for something else. Most of my mixes come together from start to finish in just a few hours. Very few of them take more than one day to finish. If something takes a week, or more, it is because I am puzzled as to how to complete it. I just thought I should clear that up.

I've been scouring the net, looking for free VST plugins that will work with my music program, and I've found a handful that I'm trying to master. Bev of ALP suggested Reaper, which I will look into, as soon as I can scrape up enough $$$ to buy it. Right now though, I have to pay out close to $500 on truck repairs, so it might take some time to dig up expendable $$$ for my music hobby. I should have a new mix to upload by this weekend, and I'm hoping it turns out as well as I could hope. Maybe I'll dedicate it to my new brood of baby Wolf Spiders.

In my search for new mixing techniques to discover, and moving in a new direction to expand my sonic boundaries, I have found another way to express myself. Taking a cue from my latest mix involving a Buzzsaw and CYSTEM mix, with a bit of Dave Fuglewicz loopage, I am going to stir portions of Buzzsaw mixes with other artists in this same vein, add a pinch of a single random loop, and see where the recipe takes me. Since Buzzsaw has flown off to parts unknown to focus on his photographic talents, I have taken it upon myself to keep his indisputably unique artistic talents in the forefront of the Germanian audience. Time will tell whether Herr Buzz will thank me or curse me for my efforts.

Which ones I am not sure at the moment, but if I don't do something this drastic soon, I will have to buy a taller monitor if I want to upload any new mixes. Maybe the albums I remove I will make available on CD, on a very limited basis. Of course, it seems absurd to think anyone would want to listen to a CD of this craziness, I mean, unless they are alone on a desert isle and the sheep dog is being a bit too protective. Wait, what? Oh never mind. :) So download 'em now before they are gone forever.

The first installment of my Mountains of Madness series of mixes (or remixes) has been uploaded. As always, the use of ear goggles is strongly recommended.

I went through my old Mountains of Madness mix, ear goggles affixed and slightly askew, deciding after listening to the whole thing from beginning to end, that rather than remix the whole mess, I need to start fresh. And the best way to start fresh is to get out the old Mountains of Madness book and re-read the masters' words again.

I was listening to my Mountains of madness mixery recently, and I decided that I am not happy with it. So I am going to remix it. It needs some 'tweaks' and a few of the newest loops I've uploaded recently would go nicely into it. I think my success with remixing another of my tunes earlier in the week might have something to do with it. That, or I am just one of those people that can't leave well enough alone. The truth be told, I am never 100% completely happy with any of my mixes. Of the 100+ mixes I have made, I would guess that there are less than 5 that I think are perfect. Perfection is of course subjective.

A week long visit with Herr Buzz is an experience none should soon forget, and well worth the time and trouble of making a journey well over 2,200 miles away. I already miss the mountains and the beautiful blue Pacific ocean. I recorded many found sound wavs while out there in SoCal, including two very revealing conversations between myself and the gloriously articulate Mr. Saw. I also have sounds of the ocean, and some snatches of random conversation from the AmTrak car. Once I get them cleaned up a bit, I'll be posting them to the ftp site. Some may even end up in the Open Loops folder. Now if I can just remember how to do that...

My newest is a little ditty called Alien Orchestra, using only the loops of International Garbageman.

I'll give some other folks a chance to play with the Infection Project; I'm going to go back and make mixes from the treasure trove to be found on the ftp server. Well, unless some new loops are added that I simply cannot live without, then I'll have to come back. But I'm going to try very hard to focus on new hortizons from old landscapes.

I just read that Ronnie James Dio passed away today. I am sad. While he and I shared the same initials, the other thing I shared with the man was a love for describing the battle between good and evil with music. Ronnie James Dio still has the best voice in the world of music. I know that the greatest guitar player/song writer of all time is still alive, Pete Townshend; and the world's best drummer, Kenny Aronof, are still going strong. May they be around for a long time. In more local news, a very good man with a great sense of humor and plenty of friends passed away Friday. His name was Dirk Newhoff. You probably have never hear do fhim, but he was one of my favorite people, and I will miss seeing him and his lovely wife come through my gate at work. In honor of Dirk, all day yesterday, I wore the hat he gave me last summer. I've uploaded a picture of me wearing that hat for you to enjoy, as well. RIP Dirk, you were my favorite Alpha Express driver, ever. I'll miss you.

I just wanted to remark that there are an incredible amount of loops for this project, and I am trying to make use of them all. If you don't see your name in the list of credits for the mixes I am posting, do not despair, you soon will. You might learn to regret it, as well. If only I could find some nice southern drawl loops to add to my mixes, then I think, my work here, would be perfect. There must be a way to acquire some personable non-Yankee crooning.(yes, if threats don't work, I can always resort to begging).

I've decided to try my hand at something I love dearly, which is making mixes based on horror subjects. One of my favorite authors is H.P. Lovecraft, and of all his works that I have read, I still find the story "At The Mountains of Madness" to be the creepiest ever. So my next series of mixes are going to involve my favorite parts of that timeless tale. In the first part that I've mixed, the narrator and Danforth enter the ancient city of the Old Ones, and discover a history of an alien species that is as fantastic and terrifying as anything ever recorded by mankind. As usual, it will be ear goggle friendly.

In honor of my loop artist status, I have uploaded some vocal/spoken word loops to the ftp server. There will be more ZM loops available later, and sometime in the near future there will be ZM Open loops available for everyone to experiment with and use.

Today is a special day. It marks my one year anniversary at TapeGerm. This has been a great year; I've learned a lot, found the people who have been inducted into the Herd of Renown, oftentimes against their will :) and most importantly, I have found a place where my particular brand of madness has been widely accepted. My evolution of mixing has been reminiscent of the ancient lung-fish that first crawled out from the ocean and took up a land-dwelling livestyle. Hopefully, by my two year anniversary at TapeGerm my particular style of mixing will have evolved to the level of apes dropping out of the trees to discover opposable thumbs have more use than just squishing fruit against your palms.

Thanks to everyone who supplied the loops and inspiration for my last three series of mixes. A few weeks ago I mentioned something that I was going to do, but that I was leaving it as a surprise. Now is the time to say that that secret thing is my next enterprise on TG. Here is what the Germanians can do to help. I want to chop up various finished mixes by nearly everybody on here that I admire (which is about 99% of the Germanians) and use them in my own mixes. Rather than going through the whole long drawn out process of asking each one of you individually, I am asking you as a group. Drop me a note if you agree that it's cool for me to mangle your finished works, or if it's not cool. Either way, I want to know where I stand (figuratively speaking) BEFORE I use anyone's finished mixes on TG. If you don't want me to mangle your works, I understand. I can take NO just as easily as I can take YES as an answer. I am not ready to step on anyone's toes, if you know what I mean. Any mixes that I used will be credited fully by title and artist, including loops used in the originals.

I've got at least three things in mind for my next projects, and the Germanians will be able to hear them here first. First, I have found some written works of mine that should lend themselves nicely to a mixery project, much in the same vein as Rick Wakeman's Journey to the Center of the Earth. Second, I have decided to include Blind Mime as the next Germanian to add to my single artist experimentations, and third, well, let's leave the third one as a surprise.

I have a new baby in the house. One week ago, I picked up a Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula. She's a pretty little thing, and so in her honor, I am going to put together a mix that will hopefully describe how I feel about my newest pet, and to express with sound the lifestyle of eight-legged creatures. Could be a whole new genre, music for invertebrates! I will be using various loops from several different artists, and will of course give credit where credit is due. As for the Brave New World series, I have one more chapter to put up, and then I will be looking for a new artist to dissect.

Remix of a remix of a mix, etc.

I was listening to my remix of Null MCs' Empty at work tonight (I have to play music my co-worker doesn't know, or she sings along, and that's just annoying) and decided that I may have to remix it again. So back to the drawing board. I'll keep the original up, just because some people liked it. I am one of those types that is never quite satisfied. In a few days or weeks, I am going to probably delete my monster and zombie tracks, (the ones at the bottom of my page) but they will still be available for people to download until then. I need to make more room for the plethora of new mixes I will be posting soon.

A Step Up

I have recently begun to use the open loops of Herr Dave Fugelwicz, in which I create mixes using ONLY his loops, and some bits taken from his previous mixes. This will be a long process, because as I listen to his mixes, the idea of chopping out small pieces to use to make my own odd mixes feels almost like using a can of spray paint to 'tag' the works of art in the Louvre. It feels almost sacrilegious.

Thanks to Herr Buzzsaw and his incredibly diverse mixes and loops, I had fun creating those ten musical pieces from his spectacular work. While you may wish to think that my mixes were the product of my own skill, I would have to disagree with you. Those mixes turned out so well only because of the material I was given to work with. Without the utter genius of Buzzsaw's incredible mixes and loops, none of this would have been possible. Everyone reading this, please do me a favor, go to Buzzsaw's page and give his mixes a listen, especially the one entitled 'Pour Maman, Pomme du Monde" about halfway down his page. There, in that song, is the true genius of my mixes. Thank you Buzz for the honor of using your loops and songs to have a bit of fun. And welcome back from that crazy alien planet, I knew they'd never keep you there.

The new single person loop project will star Mr. Buzzsaw, and his innumerable Shavings. Gather up your favorite ear goggles, I am ready to give Herr Buzzsaw the Royal ZM Treatment. May God have mercy on his immortal soul, because I am going to be ruthless with his loops.

I have embarked on a new quest, and with it, comes the thrill of making surreal mixes from the loops of single artists. While I am busy with the loops of Master Gluck, I have plans for other artists in the future. Master Buzzsaw and his Shavings are in the future queue, and should anyone else like to join this odd quest for the Holy Grail of Germania, feel free to let me know.

Thanks to the kind words on my recent mix using the loops of a single artist, I have decided to try and do a new song using only the loops of one artist at a time. Yeah, that should make it pretty interesting, especially since there are so many great loop artists at Germania. My most recent mix was made using a few select loops from the artist whose name is often censored. =)

More Horror to Come

The piece entitled Attack of the Shadows has ground to a halt. So I am going in a different direction. One I have yet to try in audio. I am working on a piece called Ghostly Landscape. Whether it is a haunted abode or simply a haunted area, I haven't figured out yet. The trick is making the music sound like ghosts and wind and creaking doors without actually using those particular sound waves. I have the first two minutes done, and as soon as I get enough of the piece to my liking, I will post it. Thanks to Dataho' for the new loops, they are working quite well on this piece.

While the LOTZ series of mixes has come to an end, there are still more stories of musical horror to follow. Thanks to a recent conversation with Herr Buzz, a new concept is germinating in my disturbed and febrile mind. Just an idea, but what if that loyal companion one finds on a sunny day; your shadow, isn't so loyal after all? What if that dark figure cast by your place in the sun secretly seeks to harm you? The next horror mix series to appear on my page will be entitled Attack of the Shadows. You have been warned.
