CONTAGION - found sounds project
on the 5th of
May!
Tapegerm Collective is a looping and mixing collective.The event will
be resulting in a number of mixes that will be put online on the project
page and also the possibility for the sounds to be used in further projects
related to Tapegerm Collective, Das Kleines Field Recording Festival/Berlin
and xxXtenxion project of Pomodoro Bolzano. The entire event will run
from Midnight Friday Until Midnight Saturday (24 hours) This is in USA
time zones.

ACTIVITIES OF THE DAY:
a) Sound Hunt
b) Upload to Sample/Loop Pool
c) 24 Hour Mixing Spree
d) Live Streaming into Second Life of mixes or live music
e) Direct chat and hang around with participating artists

a) Sound Hunt:
- we hunt sounds - like field recordings not processed yet, old found
cd-r's, cassettes, reel-to-reel tapes, dictaphone-recordings etcetera,
edits/processes/ and make samples and loops from this, old digital media
from game stations etcetera. The sounds could of course be very musical,
with beats and more as well as more oriented to the sound texture samples.
b) Upload to Sample/Loop pool
- an upload to an ftp-site from participators. This is where the loop/sample
exchanges are taking place. [FileZilla

c) 24 Hour Mixing Spree
from midnight to midnight the sound hunts and mixings will go on. As mixes
get ready they are directly placed on our pages so this is really a project
- that gets you instantly involved in a creative environment of artists
from all the world.
d) Live Streaming into Second Life of mixes
or live music
- in collaboration with german netartists Pomodoros Bolzanos
in their project called xxXtenxion we will have the opportunity to play
live or play Contagion mixes in the virtual landscapes and on the virtual
Regensburger square called Haidplatz.
e) Live chatting with participating artists
- a chat service to hang around and socialize, a place to inform others
when new sounds and mixes are being put online. The latest news are to
be told here.
