C. Goff III
Lick My Beefheart Off, Rhino 03:18/192k
Don Van Vliet RIP 1941-2010. I quote a couple of my favorite lines from my favorite Captain Beefheart composition: "The Buggy Boogie Woogie," from the album: "Lick My Decals Off, Baby." Attempting to be true to the Captain's ideal of not contributing to the sameness of everything, this dirge detours away from the familiar while retaining certain homage elements. Buzzsaw's Rhinoceros completes the riddle with unparalleled poignancy. Credits: Open Loops by Hal McGee, Dave Fuglewicz, and Buzzsaw. C. Goff III: Korg DS-8 Synthesizer, Korg R3 Vocoder Synthesizer, Midisoft Midi Composing Tool, Voice. Genre: Family. Created: 02 Jan 2011 10:46 PM. Plays: 120 -->please comment (2).

Don Campau said, "A bizarre but delicate rendering that demonstrates once again Mr. Goff's abilties to not only transcend genres but create new ones. One of the very few Tape Germ artists ( Ken Clinger is another) who use his own voice is a songlike manner, this hallucinatory episode is recanted through a funnel of feelings and harkening moments of gauzy bells and bones. All in just about 2 minutes."

davefuglewicz said, "From the crazed storm of electronics in the intro to the the delicate stringed instrument playing throughout to the surreal lyrics sung by the unique you. This has got to be one of the best mixes to crash in Germania.. ever. It's a trippy psychedelic-noise-folk song that is an instant old-time favorite. P.S.: (Ask the Swami Snatch about the 'Unique You' as opposed to the 'Common You' in relation to the 'Cosmic You'. I know he'll be glad to ruminate on ts vast and weighty importance to creation.)"

omnitechnomatrix said, "Kwel synths in the intro... Nice and trippy! Good voices... also nice and phreaky too! I wish it was a bit longer...CHEERZ!! Great work m8! OTM "
